Developing Success in Your Company

It's easier than you think.  Corporate Development is a blanket term used to describe all Strategic functions.  Developing your company requires something different than just hanging out and seeing what happens.  Specifically, what corporate development encompasses depends upon where you are now.  It could involve steps to return vitality to an old, stiff organization with obsolete and/or dysfunctional values in place.  On the other extreme, it could be like taming a wild animal before it runs amuck.

Either way, Company (it doesn't have to be a corporation) Development and Strategic Planning are not stuck in the ethereal, arcane, and extremely expensive realm of large consulting firms whose employees have no practical experience.   Although there's a lot of hard work involved, it's easy to determine where you are, what you want, and where your going - given the resources that you either have of can get.

Beginning to Evolve and Grow

Company Development begins with an accurate assessment of where you are now; both in general, and relative to the world.  We will look at "The Three C's and the Four P's"

  • Company (Your Company)

  • Competition

  • Customers

  • Product

  • Price

  • Promotion

  • Place (Distribution)

Of course, in the real world, things get a little more complicated, but while the details are complex, the basic principals should be very simple.

Problems, projects, challenges do not happen in a vacuum.  So even if we are addressing a specific situation, we will solve it with a "big picture" holistic approach.

Planning and Executing Strategies are integral to Corporate Development.  A properly developing corporation is one that accommodates change, both internally and in the marketplace.  In that sense, the terms "Corporate Development" and "Change Management" are synonymous.

Corporate Development includes the following
